Medical Assisting A Successful Medical Assistant Career Starts Here!

Medical Assistants are engaged in a variety of tasks within healthcare facilities and chiropractic offices. Their work includes administrative and clinical responsibilities, and MAs work closely with physicians, nurses and other medical professionals as well as patients. Depending upon the size of the practice, MAs may perform a dual role, working on both sides of the practice.

On the administrative side, medical assistants provide critical support by scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, performing basic billing and coding duties, helping patients fill out insurance forms, and recording patients’ medical history.

On the clinical side, responsibilities may include administering injections, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, collecting blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, performing routine laboratory tests, showing patients to examination rooms, tracking vitals, EKGs, and assisting doctors with examinations.
